BEFORE YOU REQUEST
Start with the essentials.
Every request is reviewed individually. Advance notice gives us time to understand the full journey.
What kind of transportation do you provide?
Virginia Coastal Transportation provides private, non-emergency transportation for self-mobile passengers. Common trips include appointments, errands, family visits, worship, community outings, and other personally reviewed journeys.
How far ahead should I request a ride?
Please submit your request at least 48 hours before the preferred pickup whenever possible. Advance notice gives us time to review the route, timing, and support needs.
Can I request a same-day ride?
Call 757-773-3920 for a short-notice need. Same-day requests are considered individually and availability is not guaranteed.
Is my ride confirmed when I submit the form?
No. Submitting the form creates a request for review. The ride is confirmed only after we approve the details and send a separate confirmation.
Do you show prices online?
Standard fares start at a $20 minimum, based on trip distance — see the full rate table at vct.cocre8ai.com/pricing/. Flat rates apply for ORF, PHF, and RIC airport trips. Custom or complex trips are quoted individually after review.
PLANNING YOUR RIDE
Details matter.
Share only the practical details we need to review the route, schedule, available space, and support.
What information should I include in my request?
Include the pickup and destination addresses, preferred times, return or wait needs, mobility considerations, and the best contact information. Share only what is needed to plan the ride safely.
Can I request recurring transportation?
Yes. Recurring medical and personal rides can be discussed and considered based on schedule, route, and availability. Include the expected days and times in your request.
What areas do you serve?
Service is centered in Virginia Beach. Requests from surrounding Hampton Roads communities are considered individually based on route and availability.
Can I bring a companion, walker, or foldable wheelchair?
Include companions and mobility equipment in the request so we can review the available space and assistance needed before approving the trip.
Can I request a round trip or appointment wait?
Yes, you may request a return trip or wait arrangement. Include the expected appointment length and return details so the full journey can be reviewed.
